At Alliance Française we offer you various levels of learning, from the basic to the most advanced ones. You will learn at your own pace, thanks to our different timings and frequencies, adapted to all types of public.
OFFLINE CLASSES
To experience a full learning experience, we advise you our offline classes. Nothing can replace a direct and real-time interaction between learners and teachers. By joining our in-site courses, you will also have the chance to enjoy our cultural activities and make new friends who share the love for the French language and culture.
ONLINE CLASSES
Alliance Francaise Bhopal – Indore offers a 100% online French class solution, for the ones who wish to stay at home while learning French. Please note that our online classes are only open for the residents of the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Nagpur. Residents of other Indian states may apply only if the Alliance Française of their zone does not offer a similar course, after furnishing a No-Objection Certificate.

Understanding the different course levels
BASIC

A1 – Basic User
This level recognizes basic knowledge. It is the most basic level at which a language is used, called the “discovery” stage. At this stage, the learner can interact in a simple way: he/she can speak about him/herself and his/her immediate environment.
• Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs
of a concrete type.
• Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where
he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.
• Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help
A2 – Basic User
This level is based on the same principle: it recognizes the linguistic competency of a basic user, considered as a social actor. The candidate can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring the most common polite phrases and exchanges of information.
• Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).• Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
• Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.

B1 – Independent User
At this level, the user becomes independent. He/she can maintain interaction: he/she can understand and maintain a discussion and give his/her opinion. He/she is capable of dealing with situations likely to arise in daily life.
• Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
• Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst traveling in an area where the language is spoken.
• Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
• Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
B2 – Independent User
A B2 user has a degree of independence that allows him/her to construct arguments to defend his/her opinion, explain his/her viewpoint and negotiate. At this level, the candidate has a degree of fluency and spontaneity in regular interactions and is capable of correcting his/her own mistakes.
• Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.
• Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
• Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

C1 – Proficient User
• Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning.• Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
• Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
C2 – Proficient User
• Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.
• Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.
• Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
