Alliance Française de Bhopal is pleased to announce Portrait of a Tree, a solo exhibition by distinguished visual artist Dr. Neena Khare, on view from 13 to 17 December. The opening reception will be held on 13 December at 6:30 PM, in the gallery of Alliance Française de Bhopal.

Dr. Neena Khare’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in a profound and spiritual relationship with the natural world. For her, nature is not simply a subject—it is everything: “God, life, treasure, thirst, satisfaction,” she explains. Nature forms the center of her emotional, philosophical, and artistic exploration. Each element, she believes, carries both mystery and joy, consciousness and surprise.

Through her current body of work, Khare channels these ideas into delicate compositions, using acrylic on canvas and paper. Her paintings often feature ornamental forms, radiant golden lines, and luminous depictions of trees that evoke a sense of divinity and wonder. The interplay of light, color, and symbolic form invites viewers into a contemplative space—one that reflects her own spiritual journey. As she describes it, incorporating the subtle elements of nature “gives strength” to her practice and deepens her curiosity about the hidden secrets within natural forms.

A highly accomplished artist, Dr. Neena Khare holds a PhD in Drawing and Painting and has presented her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Madhya Pradesh and throughout India. Her work has been celebrated for its sensitivity, depth, and its ability to merge artistic expression with spiritual inquiry.

Portrait of a Tree offers the public an opportunity to witness her most recent explorations into the visual and poetic language of nature.
