French multi-instrumentalist David Walters stops in Bhopal on his India tour (18 June – 5 July) to present Soul Tropical—a vibrant fusion of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, warm synths, and sun-soaked island soul. Whether evoking carefree beach vibes or deep introspection, his music radiates sunshine, even on the rainiest of days.
This evening will be a truly Indo-French cultural event as the concert will be followed by a Classical music performance by the Delhi-based artist Rita Dev. This special event, brought to you by the French Institute in India, the Alliance Française de Bhopal and the Department of Culture of Madhya Pradesh, promises to be a musical evening filled with culture, celebration and of course music!
About David Walters:
Paris-born and Marseille-based, David Walters channels his Caribbean roots into a border-crossing mix of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, electronic grooves, and acoustic soul. From remixing Gotan Project and co-founding the electro-hip-hop outfit Zimpala to studying guitar with Malian legend Ali Farka Touré, his career is defined by creative wanderlust. Projects such as Nola Is Calling— linking musicians from New Orleans, Benin, and France—highlight his talent for uniting cultures in a single, sun-soaked sound.
