The 48-Hour Short Film Challenge
The 48-Hour Short Film Challenge is a nationwide initiative bringing together students, teachers and creative communities from the AF network across India.
Inspired by the renowned 48 Hour Film Project, the challenge invites teams to write, shoot and edit a short film within 48 hours, based on a common theme revealed simultaneously. Each group receives the same theme at 5p.m. on Friday, and has 48 hours to create its film (3 minutes max). On the 23 of May, all the Alliance Française of India screen the films selected by a jury, followed by an inter-Alliance vote and the announcement of a national winners’ list.
48h contest: May 15–17, 2026 ( theme received 15 May at 5pm)
National screenings & voting: May 23, 2026
