What is DELF/DALF?

DELF and DALF are official certifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify proficiency in the French language of non-native speakers of French. The certificates are internationally recognized and often used by foreign ministries of education (Ministry of Human Resource Development in India) to assess French linguistic skills. At each level, 4 skills are evaluated: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

DELF – (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française)

If you wish to register for DELF , you have can do it through :

01 – ONLINE REGISTRATION

Online registration allows you, after reviewing the CALENDAR of the session (P.6), to fill the form, upload your ID, and pay your fee. Once everything is in order, few days before of the exam, you will receive a convocation with the days and timings of your exams. Kindly note that the convocation will be send to the email ID registered on the Form. Registration are session wise and will be open based on the calendar. If you don’t find your session in the list of available session or if you haven’t receive your convocation, please contact us.

DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) are official diplomas issued by the French Ministry of Education. They permit the certification of French language abilities. Therefore these diplomas allow you to highlight your skills in French for personal, scholars, university or work purposes.

Please note that DELF is oriented toward an adult audience. For children, there is the DELF Prim and for teenagers, the DELF junior version and the DELF for schools. There is also a DELF especially targeting the working system: the DELF Pro which is more oriented for professional purposes. ​

Within the DELF, there are 4 different levels: A1, A2, B1 and B2. Level A1 is the most accessible and level B2 is the most advanced. Above B2 level, there is the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) with two more levels: C1 and C2. Thus DELF is divided into 4 independents diplomas each linked to 4 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

People who have passed the DALF (C1 or C2) are exempt from taking language tests for entrance into French universities.

Delf Prim (For kids):

The DELF Prim is made up of written and oral subjects tailored to children’s areas of interest (beginners, up to age 10).

DELF Junior (For teenagers):

The DELF Junior is made up of written and oral subjects, designed for secondary school students (between ages 11 and 15) who want to have their skills in French assessed and recognized by an internationally-recognized diploma.
