Exhibition on display from 7th to 28th February

The Alliance française de Bhopal is pleased to announce the opening of UDBHAV, an exhibition by the Indian painter Nitesh Panchal, to be inaugurated on February 7 at 6:00 PM at its Saapuraz premises.

Born and based in Ujjain, one of India’s most historically and spiritually significant cities, Nitesh Panchal’s artistic practice is deeply informed by an environment shaped by mythology, ritual, and astrological belief systems. Growing up in a city where cosmic cycles and planetary movements are woven into everyday consciousness, Panchal draws upon these influences to construct a visual language that bridges tradition and contemporary painting.

The exhibition UDBHAV presents Panchal’s recent work, inspired by Janam Kundli the astrological birth chart used in Indian astrology. In these works, Janam Kundli is not approached as a predictive or deterministic tool, but rather as a symbolic framework—a record of a specific moment in time when planetary positions align in a unique configuration. Panchal interprets this alignment as a reflection of circumstance, energy, and spatial order rather than fate..

Through layered compositions and expressive forms, the artist translates abstract astrological structures into painterly experiences. His works explore the relationship between cosmic systems and individual perception, inviting viewers to contemplate how invisible forces—time, movement, and alignment—shape both inner and external realities.

This exhibition marks an important exploration in Panchal’s ongoing practice, offering a contemporary interpretation of ancient astrological concepts through painting.
