La Nuit des Idées (Night of Ideas) is an annual event which takes place in various locations around the world. The event brings together leading thinkers, researchers, artists, and the general public to explore contemporary issues and share ideas through lectures, panel discussions, workshops. La Nuit des Idées aims to foster dialogue, critical thinking, and creativity on topics ranging from politics and philosophy to science, technology, and culture.

Social Science and Humanities scholarship offer various perspectives on society and contribute to the public understanding of many social and cultural issues. However, despite a key role in feeding public debates, academics face different challenges in the dissemination of their knowledge. The proposed round table will address the implication of scholars in the public sphere (including policy-making agencies, civil society organizations, NGOs, think-tanks, and media) as well as the complex relationship between knowledge and power.
